REACH OUT TO THE COMMUNITY

Since I retired from full-time work, I have volunteered in a vaccine centre and with another organisation in Chorlton. I have volunteered for Reach Out to the Community for more than two years now.

I like to volunteer because I want to feel useful and to use my time and energy to make a difference.  I chose to come to RoC because it is a small, local charity. I can see, every time I come to the shop, the way it supports homeless people in the local area.

I work in the shop, tidying and helping the shop manager. I’ve recently  taken on looking after the books, trying to make sure they are sold to support the charity, I’ve also been helping with planting and some administration.

I like meeting people in the shop. Volunteering can be fun!
