A doctoral level research scientist with an academic background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing and Enterprise Management, I helped my husband to set-up our small, family scientific consultancy business before taking a role in a multi-national company as the UK R&D Manager leading a small team of chemists developing ink-jet inks for industrial scale printers.

Being in the lucky position of being able to take some time out of the workforce to spend time with my family, I’ve been volunteering part-time with ‘Reach Out to the Community’ since January 2023. I initially joined because I was interested in finding out more about the local situation regarding homelessness having noticed an increase in begging. I have been helping in the shop, on-line training, attending small conferences and operating the monthly, food-bank collection stall. I am looking forward to joining Steph on outreach in the near future. I enjoy the camaraderie and it is good to feel appreciated by the staff, donors & customers.
